PlayStation Plus November Offerings Revealed, Includes PS5 Game

November marks a special month in the year as the release of the Xbox Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5 has finally come. In typical fashion, PlayStation announced the November 2020 lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers and included one extra.

Starting November 3, PS Plus subscribers can download Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition for PS4. As an added bonus to those getting the PS5 at launch, you will be able to download Bugsnax starting November 12.

Here is a break down of the games:

Bugsnax (PS5 Version only)

The very first PS5 game to join PS Plus is Young Horses’ first-person adventure Bugsnax! In it you play an investigative journalist who has set out to explore Snaktooth Island, home to legendary half-bug half-snack creatures. You will discover, hunt and capture all 100 critters located on the island while also tracking down and reuniting the island’s inhabitants.

The PS5 version of Bugsnax will be available to beginning on Thursday, November 12 until Monday, January 4, 2021. If you don’t have a PS5, don’t worry you can still claim the game and have it for when you upgrade to next-gen.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (PS4 Game)

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an action-adventure game set between the the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is the sequel to the 2014 hit Middle-earth: Shadow of War. You will play as the duo Talion and the spirit of Celebrimbor to go behind enemy lines forging your army, conquer fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. The best part about this game is it expands on the Nemesis System which was created in the original that gives unique personal stories with every enemy and follower. All of this in an effort to confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths and take him down.

Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition (PS4 Game)

Developed by Team Cherry, This engrossing 2D explorative platformer, descend into a sprawling underground world of Hollownest to battle tainted creatures and befriend bizarre bugs. Unlock new skills and tailor your power sets to fit your playstyle to help you explore twisting caverns, ancient cities and deadly wastes. Uncover a kingdom’s ancient history, taking on epic bosses that’ll challenge your combat and platforming skills as you strive to solve the mysteries buried at its heart.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition will be available to download starting Tuesday, November 3 to Monday, November 30.

PlayStation Plus Collection Details

PlayStation also gave some extra insight on the PS Plus Collection, a new benefit to PS Plus subscribers. Starting with the launch of the PS5 console, subscribers can redeem and play any of the curated library of games featured in the collection. This date varies based on region. The games are not limited to only PS5 owners. Those playing on PS4 that have PS Plus will still be able to redeem the games. Those playing on PS5 will see increased loading speeds and improved framerates due to PS5’s Game Boost. Once you redeem them, you will keep them as long as you keep your PS Plus subscription.

This isn’t the first time PlayStation offered a new game for free at launch. PS Plus owners who got the PS4 early received side-scrolling shoot’em up Resogun and puzzle platformer Contrast.

The PlayStation 5 launches on November 12 in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and November 19 in the rest of the world.
