All The Info On Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 is drawing closer with a number of announcements on board. The event, hosted by Geoff Keighley once again, teased over 30 world-premieres throughout the show.

So if you don’t plan to travel to Germany to watch in person, you likely will be watching online. Here’s the times and places to join in the excitement.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022 Details

The Opening Night Live stream kicks off on August 23 at 11 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. CT/ 2 p.m. ET. It runs for two hours and will showcase over 30 games. In the past, a pre-show aired for a half hour but one has not been confirmed as of yet. You can watch the showcase in German and English, but additional subtitle options are said to be available. It will be streamed through the official The Game Awards channels on YouTube and Twitch.

We know that Xbox will have a presence and announcements at the showcase. They announced, similarly to their showcase for Summer Game Fest, it will focus on previously announced titles coming in the next 12 months. The other announcements confirmed to be at the show include:

  • a brand-new sci-fi IP from Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment
  • A new look at The Callisto Protocol
  • Goat Simulator 3
  • High On Life
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Return to Monkey Island
  • Sonic Frontiers

There you have it. Let us hope the showcase is a bit better than what Geoff Keighley showed off at Summer Game Fest Kickoff. Last year’s event saw the reveal of Saints Row, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and gameplay for Call of Duty Vanguard. So there’s hope!
